The Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division is currently undertaking an exciting upgrade that will improve and enhance our consumer complaint services. Unfortunately, during the upgrade we cannot take any consumer complaints. We expect our new system to be up and running no later than July 17, 2023.
If your insurance carrier is denying coverage for an urgent medical service or if you are facing an immediate loss of housing, please call 410-576-6300. The consumer service representative will take your information and forward it to a supervisor for review. Please note that we are unable to receive or process any other new consumer complaints while our system is being upgraded.
We greatly appreciate your patience during this short time that our systems are unable to provide all of the consumer services you expect from our office. Our new system will offer an easier, more user-friendly way to file your complaint online, including a way to upload documents directly to our office and track the status of your complaint. We also appreciate your patience as we work out any glitches during implementation of the new system.
We are looking forward to being able to assist you with consumer complaints and health insurance coverage and medical billing complaints when our new system is in place. Until then, please visit www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov/Pages/CPD/Tips-Publications/edunit.aspx for educational materials, tips and tools, and other information to help keep you safe in the marketplace. Please hold onto to all of your documentation and be prepared to file your complaint as soon as our upgraded system is back online. We apologize in advance. This is necessary so we can ultimately provide you with a better service.
