The Open Enrollment period for health insurance through Maryland Health Connection starts on November 1, 2017 and ends on December 15, 2017. If you want to be covered in 2018, you have to sign up by December 15, 2017. If you have special circumstances, you still may be eligible to apply for coverage outside of Open Enrollment. Maryland Health Connection is the health insurance marketplace
where individuals and families can compare and enroll in qualified health
insurance plans and learn if they qualify for federal tax credits and
cost-sharing reductions to lower their insurance costs. Maryland residents can
also learn if they are eligible for Medicaid or the Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP) through Maryland Health Connection.
Individuals and families can apply for health insurance outside of open enrollment if they have special
circumstances. Examples of special circumstances include getting married or
divorced, having a baby or losing other health insurance coverage.

help through Maryland Health Connection with in-person help from a navigator, insurance broker or other in-person assistor from their community.
